Checking an offer

# When an answer calls for a pause.

Even a polished page cannot serve as a public record.

If an answer is missing, ask again in writing. If the wording clashes with the official record, give yourself time to understand the difference.

Care facts checked in September 2026.

Ask for the answer
in plain words.

## A prescription medicine without a prescription

A licensed health professional must provide a prescription before you can receive a prescription medicine under federal law, as of September 2026.

Ask how the assessment and prescription happen before any medicine is sent.

A fast payment process does not answer that question. Keep the care step clear in your notes.

Ask in your own words

Where is the clinician’s assessment in this process?

## A research label or a registration badge

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns, as of September 2026, that research-labelled weight-drug products promoted for people have unknown quality and may harm them.

A research-only label does not make a product suitable for treatment. Ask whether the exact medicine is FDA-approved or made to order under the rules for custom-made medicines. Ask which rule permits it to be supplied to you.

FDA registration also does not establish approval of a business or medicine.

Ask what the badge proves, and which official record supports that answer.

## A custom-made product called “the same”

Preparing a medicine to order is called compounding. As of September 2026, those preparations do not hold FDA approval.

FDA calls it misleading to describe a compounded drug as an approved copy or to promise the same proven results.

The issue is the claim being made. Ask why that particular preparation is proposed and what evidence relates to it.

Ask in your own words

What is different about this preparation, and why does that difference matter for my care?

## A pharmacy name you cannot confirm

Semaglutide and tirzepatide are ingredients in medicines for diabetes and weight management.

As of September 2026, FDA has found fake labels on semaglutide and tirzepatide medicines made to order, naming pharmacies that do not exist.

Look up the name through the state’s pharmacy licensing board. A logo on the care website cannot replace that record.

The Federal Trade Commission is the federal agency that protects consumers. It warns about sellers who demand payment only by bank transfer, wire transfer, a payment app, a gift card or cryptocurrency, meaning digital money. It says these demands signal likely scams.

Pause over a mismatch or a payment demand you cannot explain. Keep the written offer and return to the licence check.

Read for prescription, licence and pharmacist checks. FDA also cautions that a convincing website can conceal an unsafe pharmacy.

Read the distinction between offering a payment method and insisting on it as the only method. The insistence is the concern.
